چکیده

Background: Liver cirrhosis (LC) is still being important public health concern, due to the rising of global incidence and mortality. There risk progression in LC patients acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) with high complication short-term mortality rate. It needs rapid simpler predictor immediate accurate triage patient. The aim this study review systematically role PWR predict ACLF patient.Method: This systematic was identified by searching Pub-Med, Cochrane library, EMBASE database (2016-2022). Only observational studies were included. patient selected as main subject each study, added predictor. Cochran seven step model used perform review. Results: Six cohort retrospective met inclusion criteria, including total 1,348 ACLF. Half included had level evidence. non-survivor significantly lower values than survivor. range HR 0.665-0.995, p value 0.0001. Whereas cutoff non survivor 7.83-14.2.Conclusion: a predictive efficacy, similar CLIF-SOFA MELD score terms predicting patients. showed independent factor short term cirrhotic

Chronic liver failure-consortium acute-on-chronic liver failure and acute decompensation scores predict mortality in Brazilian cirrhotic patients

AIM To validate prognostic scores for acute decompensation of cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure in Brazilian patients. METHODS This is a prospective cohort study designed to assess the prognostic performance of the chronic liver failure-consortium (CLIF-C) acute decompensation score (CLIF-C AD) and CLIF-C acute-on-chronic liver failure score (CLIF-C ACLF), regarding 28-d and 90-d m...

Acute-on-chronic liver failure: a new syndrome in cirrhosis.

Patients with cirrhosis who are hospitalized for an acute decompensation (AD) and also have organ failure(s) are at high risk of short-term death. These patients have a syndrome called Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure (ACLF). ACLF is now considered as a new syndrome that it is distinct from "mere" AD not only because of the presence of organ failure(s) and high short-term mortality but also becau...

Acute-on-chronic liver failure: a review

There is no universally accepted definition of acute-on-chronic liver failure; however, it is recognized as an entity characterized by decompensation from an underlying chronic liver disease associated with organ failure that conveys high short-term mortality, with alcoholism and infection being the most frequent precipitating events. The pathophysiology involves inflammatory processes associat...

Soluble ST2 Plasma Concentrations Predict Mortality in HBV-Related Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure

Hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF) is a rapidly progressing and frequently fatal condition. The aim of this study was to determine whether interleukin- (IL-) 33 and soluble ST2 (sST2) were associated with disease severity and mortality in HBV-ACLF. We found that plasma levels of sST2 but not IL-33 were higher in HBV-ACLF patients compared with chronic hepatitis ...
